About
My work of lately has been revolving around the phenomenon of physical pain and what its affects are upon us. My studies often spring from medical discourse, out of which interpersonal and self-relational practices are discerned. Adapted, these gestures and practices are later brought back and enacted in installations comprised of drawings and texts, as well as sound and mixed media.
The material retrieved in some of my installation work is a composite of filed medical journals, interspersed
with literary fragments, the statements of others, and my own fictional accounts. By relocating information and affections in these sorts of hybrid bodies, I try to disperse, if only temporary, what pain does to us as well as how pain in our culture is described and regarded. Instead of succumbing to the idea that physical suffering affects and makes one’s own body visible and all-encompassing – a locked-in body, cut off from impressions and activities from the outside world – I interpret and consider the value that is brought about with an increased physical sensibility. In my work, I emphasizes the desire for a newfound knowledge, rather than affirming a lack as a result of something lost.

I do freelance commission as a writer and translator. I write catalogue texts, essays, interviews and reviews of contemporary art and cultural phenomenon.
